Sprawled on a 6.5
hectare land in the Dasmariñas Relocation Center High School
in Dasmariñas Bagong Bayan, Cavite.It holds the distinction
of being the sole public secondary school in the Dasmariñas,
Cavite. It was established to cater to the educational needs of
the relocated families from Metro Manila and to mold the young people
of Dasmarias and its neighboring towns.
By
Virtue of Republic Act Number 503, DRCHS started its operation
in June 1975 with an initial enrolment three hundred four students
in the first, second and third year levels with nine faculty members.
The original building consisted of nine classrooms but before
the school year came to close, (2) two-storey RP-US school building
with thirty six rooms were constructed. To meet the educational
demand of the rapidly increasing student population every year,
the school updated its physical facilities. In 1980the Social
Hall and the six-room YDT building were built. During the school
year 1982-1983 there as a boom in construction; five units ( six
rooms each unit ) of Sp Bagong Lipunan Type, 2 school building
of academic classes, eight room administration building, twelve-room
Faculty Building three-room Home economics Laboratory and Practice
House Building, six-room Industrial Arts Building, a playground
with standard oval and a forty-meter mini grandstand were added
to its facilities. JICA building was also added and a covered
court was newly constructed which was donated by the municipality
of Dasmariñas headed by Mayor E. Barzaga.
In
the line with the government’s thrust of democratizing access
to education, the DRCHS created its first annex school; the Bulihan
Sites and services High School in Bulihan Siang which became operational
in June 1984; the second annex Annex C in Barangay San Simon,
Dasmariñas Bagong Bayan in June 1986; Annex J in Barangay
Santa Maria, DBB in June 1989; New Era High School in New Era,
Dasmariñas in June 1990, Annex G in Barangay San Isidro
Labrador in June 1992, Paliparan Annex in August 1993 and the
latest Congressional High School in Via Verde Village, Barangay
San Agustin II and Pag-asa High School in Victoria Reyes in 1998.
At present the main school and its eight annexes attend to more
than twenty thousand students.
